Erin Gilbert 9 months agoMy family and I have been patients of Dr. Nab for probably 15-20 years. Plenty of times I’ve written about how wonderful the office is or how much we adore Tandy. But I’m long overdue in dining the praises of Dr. Nab. One of the things we admire most about Dr. Nab is his ability to put the patient first. He has high expectations for himself and his staff. He knows when it’s important to take his time and do things right the first time and has an eye for detail unlike any other dentist I’ve ever experienced in my 51 years. It seems absolutely crazy to write a glowing review after having a root canal, but my experience yesterday was infinitely better than I would have ever expected. Nitrous oxide helped me to relax and although I wasn’t completely of sound mind, I was cognizant enough to appreciate the way I got frequent check-ins. My discomfort was managed well, and to be perfectly honest, there really wasn’t pain. Just pressure and weird sensation. My family and I are so grateful for Dr. Nab and his staff. There’s no one we would trust more for our dental care
Antonio Wilson 3 months agoWasn’t planning to leave a review at first. However, continuing to receive reminders to reschedule my appointment brought me back to a poor experience I had with Sarah, which is unfortunate because Dr. Nab is a good dentist. Last week, I was scheduled for a routine cleaning. Two days before my appointment, I confirmed that I would be attending. Later that same night, I ended up going to urgent care and was diagnosed with the flu. The following morning, I called the office and spoke with Sarah to inform her of the situation. She immediately stated that my only options were to either pay a $60 cancellation fee or come into the office while sick with the flu. When I asked how that would impact staff and other patients, especially considering how contagious the flu is, she stated that the staff would be fine because they wear masks during appointments. There was little to no consideration for other patients who would be in the office, or for the fact that coming in while sick is not appropriate. Realistically, no one wants to go to the dentist while dealing with the flu. Aside from this experience, there have been other issues with the office. However, I was not informed that the first appointment would only include X-rays without any assessment or basic treatment. In my experience, most dental offices provide at least a basic cleaning or evaluation during the initial visit. Additionally, the office hours are limited for individuals who work during the day, with the last appointments often being scheduled as early as 2:00 PM. Overall, this experience has led me to consider finding another dentist who may cost more but offers better hours and a higher level of professionalism and compassion from staff. I would also recommend additional training for Sarah, particularly in demonstrating compassion and understanding within a healthcare setting. I would strongly suggest reading the reviews and weighing your pros and cons before scheduling an appointment if you are not already an existing patient Update for response posted on 3-19-26: Please review what you just said in your response. You reminded me that a $60 fee would be placed during the time of the call. Obviously, that means giving me no consideration To being sick and only the choice of either coming or having to pay the $60. Also, when I call back the next day, I never did say that I canceled the day to be clear. I just clearly saved it to you guys that I decided not to attend the appointment. So why I know generative AI is an amazing tool to help get your point across. Please make sure that you are inputting correct and factual information! 😊
Elizabeth Rebecca Heller a month agoThis is a shout-out to Gina at Midtown Dental. I've been around a long time, and I can honestly say that I have never had such a meticulous and thorough dental cleaning in my life. She was amazing! I left smiling ear to ear, wanting to show off my clean shiny teeth. It goes without saying that I would highly recommend this dental practice. Many thanks!
Dane Powell 3 months agoI’ve been a patron of Midtown Dental for over 10 years, and have had nothing but positive experiences each time I’ve come in. Dr. Nab and his staff are genuinely a friendly bunch. The dental hygienists and assistants here are very knowledgeable about what they’re doing and I have full trust in them when they are cleaning or taking x-rays of my mouth. I’ve never had “that feeling” of going to the dentist, even if it’s been for more extensive work. A++
Noel T 2 months agoI am disappointed in the level of compassionate care provided by Dr. Nab and the manner in which he communicates. While Dr.Nab is a well educated dentist with many years of experience, I have had multiple appointments now where his and his office staff's attitudes toward my concerns were a bad experience for me. His office does not communicate well about expectations for appointments, leading to confusion and unpleasant surprises at the appointment itself. At my most recent visit, I clearly communicated my apprehension for the procedure and requested numbing. Dr. Nab did agree to numb me for the procedure, but during the process, when I was reacting to the pain with tears in my eyes, he demanded to know why I was crying during a procedure that "didn't even require numbing". Afterward, when discussing an additional procedure that my insurance won't cover until the next calendar year, I was provided with no other option than to pay fully out of pocket (no payment plan) or to go seek out a dental student to work on my teeth. When asking for his professional opinion in the likelihood of different scenarios based on timing, Dr. Nab even stated in a condescending manner that he "can't predict the future". I was not requesting nor expecting that level of rudeness and refusal to engage in a discussion about my future care, which will no longer be with this office. I caution everyone who is considering Dr.Nab to reconsider unless they don't mind being talked down to, jerked around, and nearly mocked for experiencing real physical pain. Good luck to his current patients - I hope you aren't put in the same position I was.
